The Company
Assentech Ltd is proud to represent a world leader in the design & manufacture of fiberglass reinforced epoxy pipe products. Applications primarily for corrosion control in low to high pressure applications of enhanced oil recovery (EOR) projects for the Oilfields. Fiber Glass Systems also serves the Marine Offshore and Chemical markets with its Epoxy & Polyester resin, cast & filament wound product range from 1½" to 36" diameter with a temperature rating up to 225 degrees (107,2 degrees C), depending on resin system.
Fiber Glass Systems comprises three market leading companies with deep roots in the US Oilfield, Marine Offshore and Chemical industries.
Oilfield
The Smiths® Red Thread II and the Star®DHT are designed for a combination of offshore and onshore, high pressure down hole and low pressure large diameter applications.
Applications Include: flow or Injection lines, transfer or disposal lines, tank battery piping, fire water lines, oil, natural gas production, high pressure CO2 and salt water injection, crude oil, salt water, H2S, light chemicals, salts, solvents & pH 2-13 solutions.
Marine Offshore
The Smith® Green Thread 175 and 250 filament wound product lines are both fully approved to Marine Offshore (MOS) standards. The Green Thread 175 is rated up to 175 psig(12 barg)/110°C and the 250 is rated up to 250 psig (18barg)/110°C. Both are fully IMO approved with certain models achieving L-WD fire resistance and U.S.Coast Guard PFM 1-98 requirements. There is also a 'C' carbon fibre impregnated & nexus lined variant designed for full electrical conductivity. This even includes a special conductive adhesive. Please see bulletin C-3800 for more information.
Applications include: Firewater systems, Salt water supply lines, cooling water, waste lines, potable water lines, process lines, ballast piping, cargo lines, bilge piping, sprinkler systems, fresh water lines, sanitary lines, scuppers, sounding tubes, vent lines, drains & conduit.
Chemical/High Corrosion
The Fibercast® Centricast(TM) product range is a high tolerance cast piping system ideal for highly corrosive and high temperature applications. Construction is cast rather than filament wound which makes for simple assembly and very tight joints which removes the risk of chemical attack. The range is available in Vinyl Ester CL , RB & Z-Core Epoxy resins up to 36" pipe size. The Smith® Green Thread product line is also ideal for highly aggressive applications with a corrosion resistant liner. There is also a bespoke F-Chem hand built product line for specialist solutions. Smith Fibercast offers a clam shell style secondary containment system for hazardous applications. This system is easy to install and because of its unique design can be sized for single reduction, i.e., 10" primary in 12" secondary.
Chemical resistance is a key feature of the Fiber Glass Systems product line. They aim for three key characteristics in chemical resistance as shown below:
• Acid resistance: Anhydride cured epoxies are less susceptible to acid attack.
• Base resistance: Amine cured epoxies have an excellent chemical resistance.
• Solvent resistance: A suitable combination of cross link density, chemical compatibility and solvency.
Abrasion Resistant Piping
Fiber Glass Systems completes its portfolio of piping solutions by offering a variety of special purpose systems. The Ceram Core® and Silver Streak® product lines provide resistance to heavy duty abrasion with speciality liners. The CeramCore® is designed to resist abrasion in applications such as bottom ash, dredge lines, wet slurry processes, heavy salt slurries and more. The SilverStreak® provides medium abrasion resistance for applications such as flue gas desulphurization scrubbers, limestone and gypsum slurries etc.
Marine/Offshore spec piping type Greenthread® is lined for applications with firewater systems, cooling systems, drain lines, dry-deluge fire piping, column piping, process water, potable water, ballast piping, sounding tubes and vent lines.
Star(TM)High Pressure piping is suitable for internal pressures of up to 4000psi for injection, flow and gathering lines in crude oil, natural gas, sea water and fresh water applications and corrosive oil field service including CO2 and H2S.
Fiber Glass Systems offers 6 high technology jointing systems that are designed to match specific design criteria. |
